After a two-week hiatus in our steady stream of internetainment, here it is, our latest music video. Let us know what you think:
Now, if you would be obliged, would you share this video with every living soul you know? Double-click the video to go to the YouTube play page, or click on the blog entry to get the permalink to this entry.
If you've got a Digg.com account, here's the story, submitted by our friend Will (thanks!), so head over there and digg it!
Let's get this thing out there! This video is sponsored by our good friends over at iResQ.com, your one-stop shop for iPod repair (they'll also fix your iPhone or computer). They provided the cornucopia of iPods.
For those of you not already familiar with her, the video features iJustine, a cyber-friend of ours who was kind enough to be a part of this. iJustine is well known as a lifecaster and a superuser of all things Apple...you'll find her all over the web...and you've probably seen her first iPhone bill video. The cameo within the cameo is by Brookers, a YouTube superstar and friend of iJustine's. Thanks ladies!
And thanks to Colton from Calgary, Canada for submitting the idea for a song about dead iPods through our Submit-a-Song program!
As promised in the video description, here's the Dead iPod mp3.
Check out our podcast at iTunes for the "iPod only" version of the video (the version that iJustine was watching). It is ONLY available in the iTunes store (for free), and it's a great excuse for you to actually subscribe to the podcast.
Thanks to everyone who has featured this video on their site, including: maccomplainer, crunchgear, techcrunch, thinktechno, aboutcolonblank, techbugtv, 2dayblog.com, fun.varadinum, and slashgear.
And thanks to our good friend, Daisy Whitney, for featuring the video in her recent article for TVWeek!

Love the song and video. I just downloaded the MP3 and I'm going to put it on my iPod (my third in two years, which is also currently trying to die on me. Good times).
Thanks for the laughs! :o)

You did an Office Hour? Is it not on here?
T · Feb 20, 2008 6:10pm
Hi Rhett and Link
I saw your Office Hour the other they, and got (like you two) a bit upset when some guy called this music number Electronic TRash. I personally think that you two are adding motion and wellness to all of your wiewer's lifes. This song is particullary good in the chorus, and this time, like no other time, you've used the flanger/chorus effect on your voices, which makes this number a true jump to new hights for your music expressions.
I truly respect what you guys are doing, and if you are interested i've got an electronic band on www.myspace.com/avaunt, where i've used you two as an inspiration to some of the things on our song Coma Boy. i hope you'll listen to it, when you are not swearing over the problems with you transmitting.
Good luck and i look forward to see you two again
yours

destrena, i realized that and i thought it was one of the funnier parts of the song, actually. i had an extremely random idea and.... i think that rhett and link should do a stevie wonder tribute lol
G-reg_Hippo · Feb 20, 2008 2:28pm
I'm curious, how many people realized they used the myrtle beach sign for choking during the "somewhere between 18mos and 2yrs
it will sprout...and begin to choke the life out" part?

You guys missed one.
ynw (RandomNigel) · Feb 20, 2008 1:34pm
...thought you guys did a really sharp job with that ResQ bit... it hit just the right note, you know? It was nice to see someone successively market something in a way that managed to somehow leave the artist, client and audience all equally happy (or, that's what I assume was the end result, anyway). I hope this isn't too shop-talky. At the end of the day we're all just trying to figure out how we can make our careers doing this, and I think you guys are well on your way to sticking around in this thing. Keep up the good work.

really cool. i never knew iPods die. and the uploading directly to brain would make the future suck.

Gilberto · Feb 19, 2008 6:37pm

Everybody should go to digg.com and sign up for an account(if you don't already have one) and digg the video so they can get high on the rankings and more will see it.

Link looks like Rick Moranis from "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids" in the picture to the right for the "Dead iPod Song".
Jim · Feb 19, 2008 3:07pm
This has to be one of your catchiest songs, and I just got The Facebook song out of my head! It's really great though, and those goggles are a thing of beauty. Thumbs up on the song, and thumbs up on the video!
sunny_gf · Feb 19, 2008 9:12am
great stuff guys! I just bought a new iPod...but not because my old one died, it just wouldn't hold the over 60 GB of music/audiobooks that I have on my computer, lol!
guy4jesuschrist · Feb 18, 2008 10:26pm
You should get one of the many iPods you got, get those people to fix it, and send it to meeee (:
