I live in Minnesota where you allways have to be prepared for blustry weather. I buy myself some patience to deal with kids that are cooped up all day. I am sure that is possible.
I don’t buy things when its going to snow. Maybe that’s because I live in Arizona and our snow always melts within 24 hours.
But I wanted to comment that “sacks of cement” was one of the phrases my grandpa used as a feaux cuss word. Its almost as satisfying as really swearing to cry out “Sacks of cement!!!”
Oh! And I wanted to say that I LOVE your rendition of “All for the Love of a Girl”. That has to be one of my favorite Johnny Horton songs. Carnell Locklear sings that song with a lot of heart too, I must admit. I love the way Rhett & Link harmonize together and I love how they are young guys with an appreciation for old counrty/western music classics. I tell you what, I would very much enjoy being a part of a random old tunes sing-a-long with you guys some time, THAT would be GREAT fun!
We rarely have severe wintery weather here in southeast Texas. We do get freezing temps and the occasional snow but nothing like they get up north. I have been laughed at when I post about Houston closing the freeways, closing schools and suggesting people stay home and off the roads when we have a heavy freeze. Seems Houstonians panic because we have no experience driving on icy road conditions.
In times when we are house bound due to severe weather I don’t usually need to get to a store for supplies as I have a family of eight so our pantry is pretty well stocked most of the time. I have made runs to the store for movie munchies though. We like to enjoy pretzels, corn ships, popcorn, cheese puffs and sodas while watching movies from our extensive DVD collection.
The winter time is one big snow storm here in Finland. Well, okay, not quite… but we have snow from November to March or longer. We went swimming with a couple of friends mine to the lake today. It was frrrreeeezing. A quick dip and then to the sauna… feels SO good!
Well, down here in Florida (which is not a southern state, btw), we don’t get wintery blasts. But, we do have a half-year-long hurricane season, so this is always on everyone’s mind. Nevertheless, we’ve got a big generator, a Netflix instant-watch-on-your-TV subscription, and a constantly-stocked pantry (since food/cooking is a big part of our daily life). I guess we don’t need a thing!
We did get quite the wintery blast here in Nashville but before it happened I hit the store and got the vittles necessary to make some beef stew and some chili. Gotta have a good hearty stew or chili at home when it’s crazy cold outside. I don’t personally mind getting out to get groceries if I have to, that’s why the boys in Detroit gave us SUVs, but the rest of the south goes NUTS and completely forgets how to drive when there’s snow on the ground. I’m sure y’all see the same thing in the Carolinas.
I’d need a generator to watch those movies, seeing that our power goes out every time a storm comes. Maybe the breads and water are so people can make believe they’re in prison while they’re trapped in their house. It is quite irritating when you can’t find a bottle of drinking water before a storm, though… or batteries.
No big storm is coming around me, but even if there was one coming, I’m not sure what I would buy. I guess if there was going to be a storm, maybe I’d make some cookies. But come to think of it, I may do that tomorrow even without a storm…LOL! (Of course I’m not really laughing, so I don’t even know why I put “LOL”. Hmmmmm…)
I hope the screening went well! NC is just too far from WY for me to go. But, thanks to the internet and internetainment, I can still enjoy vlogs everyday, even being way across the country! Great song, it’s cool to hear something different like that. You guys seriously sound great with those country-ish songs. Love it!
Since I’ve been in college for the last few years, and I’ve lived on campus, I’ve never really had to worry about food and stuff during a winter storm. I guess I don’t have a pre-storm plan yet, and I haven’t really thought about making one, since snow is pretty regular in Indiana. Buuuuuut if there is a huge storm and I have an emergency and I’m at my parents’ house, they still have a land line phone, so I guess I’d be alright.
Over in Auckland NZ, we are sweltering so that ice cream sounds good. Would have to be our famous Hokey Pokey ice cream though. I dont think you can get it anywhere else, which is a shame because it is goo-ood!! (You guys have such gorgeous voices – I really wish I had that gift!!! Maybe I could get a job as a bird scarer at the airport perhaps!!)
For me it would be marshmallows. I’d light a fire (in the fireplace, of course) and roast mashmallows or even make smores… Mmmm.
I LOVE Harris Teeter’s chocolate and peanut butter ice cream!!! Probably one of the only reasons I’d ever like running erands is because it meant I could go to Harris Teeter, get one of those free sugar cookies they have on the way in, and then get a movie from the Redbox on the way out (most likely going back for another cookie, even though you’re only supposed to take one… shhhhh!).
I’m about 3 hours east of you all. I’m in Northeast Tennessee! The snow is going to hit all of us pretty hard!! I went to Food City yesterday, and stocked up on all kinds of snack foods and cokes! Just as long as I have plenty of snack food, water and cokes, i’m good for at least a week!! haha have fun in the snow, guys!!
Seeing as I’m used to the wintery blasts of freezing cold and snow, I don’t really bother to prepare or do anything. I’m expected to go out in it the next day anyways. If the snowy weather is going to be really bad and I need to run errands, I will do those before hand.
I enjoyed the singing at the beginning! One can tell that the lyrics have meaning to them.
I am often Driving While Invlogticated…no tickets yet! But if so, I’ll ask Link to represent me in traffic court And I would probably go out and grab some warm Taco Bell
If it’s snowing I have to get hot chocolate and wheat thins! That way I can munch on them all day and not feel too bad about myself.
We just had snow here, and I live in an apartment complex so all of our neighborly friends came out and played with me and my roommate. It was so much fun!
It has already snowed on me here in Nashville….if there is a rumor of snow around here, people start cleaning out the breads and waters from Publix. too funny. Gotta have chocolate though. And Nutty Bars.
I think my terminology must be out of date. I was thinking that a blog had posts and vlog was kind of like a blog that happened to have videos. But perhaps vlog is now indicating the post of a video blog? I’m confused.
You guys are great. My kids sing your Taco Bell song whenever we eat Mexican food. I tried to sing Your Maine Man to my wife Kelly but she wasn’t a big fan of that. I’m sure it’s because I’m already her Maine Man.
I’ve already purchased my cooked chicken in case the power goes out. Milk of course and blueberries. Oh yeah went to Wombles and got salt for the driveway. Only 10 bags left.
Okay lemme think. There isn’t going to be a winter blast where I live, (Alas, it’s too warm) but there IS going to be a killer storm! Hmm… because of the rain I’m going to the movies to see Avatar so I guess my rain snack food would be popcorn! But on the off chance that it does snow, I’ll probably just stick with soup.

I would buy/get:
1. chocolat
2. cupcakes
3. chocolat
4. chips
5. movies!!!!!
6. more chocolat

Word…
I’m really glad you did this song again. It’s great to hear the whole thing. Now to clean up the road noise and load the song on my mp3 player!
Oooooh great harmony! As usual!

I would go out and pick up some movies to watch and some cookie dough icecream to eat!!
I always have beers, tomato sauces and cheese on hand so I just have to get breads and waters.
I love that song made famous in your circles by Carnell.

Brownies and paperclips. yeah.
Congrats on another screening!

Well I live in Maine and we get tons of snow storms, we just had one actually and I made sure to have Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough ice cream.
For me it would be marshmallows. I’d light a fire (in the fireplace, of course) and roast mashmallows or even make smores… Mmmm.

I go out and get all the staples: milk, bread, cheese, lunchmeat, hamburger, pop, etc. And a backa nabs.
I would buy soda, taco flavor pizza rolls, and quite possibly the whole store. Okay, exaggeration. As long as I have the Internet, I’d be good.
When are the Live videos gonna be back?

too funny. Gotta have chocolate though. And Nutty Bars.
I have to have chocolate…..just about any kind. Here outside of Nashville we have a prediction of 10 inches of snow and we may actually get it!

definately hot chocolate, and maybe also candy
In Quebec there’s snow since November… so we always have everything we need!
