How Do You Watch?

We, as Mythical Beasts, have now had four weeks of excitement of watching our very own Rhett and Link in Commercial Kings every Friday night on IFC. Which got me to wondering – what are other Mythical Beast experiences on Friday nights?

Do you look forward to Commercial Kings as a weekly date night, like my husband and I do? Or, do you and a group of Mythical Beasts gather together to watch? Have you introduced other friends to Rhett and Link through the show? Do you DVR it and watch it on Saturday morning over cereal?

I’d love to know how other Mythical Beasts are enjoying the same experience. So, what does your Friday night look like?

Mythical Meet-ups

This has been a big week for the Kommunity! Rhett and Link embarked on their cross country road trip, and Mythical Beasts from across these United States (and a few from Canada) came out to meet them. Beasts greeted them with a small part of Americana, had them sign stuff, and took pictures with them and, of course, Rhett and Link were ready to capture all the excitement on camera.

Until their compilation of their journey is complete, I thought it would be fun to take a look at it from the Beasts’ point of view.

Be sure to check out the Road Trip Pics & Videos to see more about people’s experiences joining Rhett and Link on the road trip. Were you able to meet them on the road? Leave a comment about your favorite part of the experience.

1st Annual International Kommunity Chat

This isn’t the traditional Kommunity Highlight – this week, we are highlighting a Kommunity Event.

Some amazing Mythical Beasts had the amazing idea to get Beasts from at least 20 countries chatting at the same time. The proposed time for this Mythical event is Friday, January 28. Take a look (click the picture to take you to the original discussion):

Alright, so what time is 10:00 p.m. GMT where you live? Click here and figure it out. Just use the first selection (GMT) as Location 1, and the place where you live as Location 2. So, if you live in Texas, like I do, you will see that 10:00 p.m. GMT is 4:00 p.m.

So, what time will it be where you live? Will you be able to make the chat? Even more importantly, do you happen to live in a country that is not listed in the discussion, and would you like to be a team captain? Leave a comment and let us know that you will be there. I’m looking forward to our international chat. See you there!

Chia Heads

I have been loving Rhett and Link’s daily series, “Good Morning, Chia Lincoln”, but it seems that one Mythical Beast has a different take on a chia pet using our favorite internetainers. James (Phoenixaurus) had been working on chia heads featuring Rhett and Link themselves. Look at what happened to his “pet” project:

James, I think this is a great idea. I hope that you are able to complete this project because I think Mythical Beasts would love to see the final products.

So, Beasts, have you ever had a chia pet? What would you love to grow chia(?) on? What do you think of James’ idea? Let us know in the comments.

A Narrow Escape

I am so impressed with this video from Mythical Beast, BrAdFeRd. It is so visually interesting and well done, and I know that it took a LONG time to complete. According to Brad, he wrote, directed, and starred as both male characters in this video. That is a lot of hats to wear.

Brad was also kind enough to volunteer his time to help Rhett & Link make their pillow video. So, not only is he talented, he is a nice guy.

I also love the nod to Charlie Chaplin’s famous character, the Little Tramp. That was a great time in cinema history and it might be one of my favorites. What about you? What is your favorite period for movies? Do you like classic dramas from the 50s or do you prefer the teenage comedies from the 80s? Leave a comment below and let us know what you consider the best era for movies.
