Thanks to Jackie (jackstone) for suggesting last night’s show’s theme: awkward moments. And how appropriate that we actually introduced an awkward moment when we told you that next week’s show is the last before our summer break. That’s right, we’re taking a break from the RhettandLinKast Live for the summer. Don’t worry, we’ll still be bringing you regular Internetainment via web videos. And, we’ll probably even do some live broadcasting. It’ll just be a lot more sporadic. Enjoy last night’s show, and we’ll see you next week.
I have a lot of thoughts on this one so bare with me:

However, my personal favorite is a shortened, tweaked version of the Birthday Dirge that goes to the tune of Volga Boatmen “Happy Birthday, Oh It’s your Birthday. People dying everywhere, little children in despair, but it’s your Birthday, so Happy Birthday.” My English teacher sings it to each of her students on their Birthday! Another family tradition we have is that our legitimately musically gifted family purposefully sings the birthday song as off key as possible which makes it funny, and less awkward!
OH, And HAPPY FACEBOOK BIRTHDAY RHETT!!!!!! =) =) =)
Link, since you are so “frugal” seriously consider getting props from Goodwill or Salvation Army, so much less expensive!! (I talked about this before but wanted to mention it again)
Also, something about the awkward phone thing, My Grandfather, who is 81, does NOT say goodbye when finishing a conversation on the phone! Its frustrating because it will always inevitably end similar to one of these scenarios :
Me: “Okay Grandpa, Love you so much! Talk to ya later!”
Grandfather: *silence*
Me: “Grandpa?????” *Looks at phone then puts it back up to my ear*
~DIAL TONE~
But sometimes he doesn’t hang up, so you just sit there with dead air waiting for him to acknowledge that you are saying goodbye, but he never does so when it get to that point it goes like this:
Me: Love ya Grandpa, talk to ya later!
Grandfather: *silence*
Me: Okay bye grandpa, I love you. Have a good day..”
Grandfather: *silence*
Me: Uhmm okay. Bye *hangs up phone*
Its bad…
You guys should feel special that your wives WANT to talk to you on date nights rather than do something passive. That right there is evidence of a good marriage.
The guy who plays Spock in Star Trek (Zachary Quinto) is probably my favorite male celebrity because of his work as Sylar in heroes. But Link is a close second, tied with George Clooney. (trying to make up for my usual malicious attitude toward you Link! please accept my gracious compliment)
Anyway great kast as always guys. Hopefully you enjoyed your hiatus.

The birthday card “Read it to us” moment is something I could see being on an episode of Seinfeld.
i am a little upset that you guys arn’t going to do summer live casts cus i was only able to watch the first half of each cast cus it was my bedtime but now that i don’t have a bedtime (cus its summer) i won’t be able to see anything
still though hope you make some great summer vids.

Watching Stanley Kubrick’s “2001: A Space Odyssey” tonight was the longest (143 minutes) and most awkward moment of my entire life.
This one was one for the record books, I loved the uncomfortable situations, the roach, the world ending because of the rain, all around a great show
I’m sad that you guys are leaving but also excited about the future status of R&L, plus I won’t feel bad if I miss a show. Have fun on your hiatus and hope to see you guys soon!
btw, your clean humor is great. i appreciate it. it makes me feel more comfortable watching this. You’re good at it, too!

(in very stern/sad voice): I hope you’re happy! I was looking forward to watching your show every week live, since school got in the way of it! But nooooooo!! YOU HAVE TO GO PUTTING A HAITUS ON US! I HATE HAITI! (not the country haiti, more than one haitus!) *sadness* Naw, jk! Have a good summer! LOL A ROACH! That was a huge one! LOL! (btw I’ll watch next weeks show!)
When I heard the subject of the show, I didn’t know what to expect, but it was hilarious! I’m sad to hear the hiatus, but I can’t wait to find out what community stuff you guys have planned! I couldn’t help but laugh when the giant ‘roach showed up and when Rhett thought the world was ending because of the rain! I can definitely relate to feeling awkward during the birthday song and accidentally looking at someone while staring off in space! I also think it’s awkward when you wave at a friend and the person in front of them waves back (that’s just uncomfortable for both people).
I’ll definitely miss the Kast during summer vacation, and I’m sad that I won’t be able to watch the show next week.
But you guys definitely deserve a break! (as a student I can totally understand the need for a hiatus once in a while.) I’ll be excited to see this new, nebulous-sounding project! Plus that’ll give me me a chance to start delving into the show archives. 
You’ve pretty much covered all my most frequent awkward moments! Phone conversations, the Happy Birthday song dilemma (I usually just smile around at random people- *still* awkward), and randomly making eye contact (happens all the time at school). That last one always leaves me cringing inwardly.
I just want to say how grateful I am. Thank you for all of your nonstop Internetainment over the past months. You guys deserve the break. I’m looking forward to your videos and site updates this summer. Thank you!

I’m with everybody here in saying how much I’ll miss you guys. This will be the first time I look forward to summer ending :-/ There just isn’t anyone with as much heart and character as Rhett and Link. You two are irreplaceable. Thank you for giving us 18 months of pure internetainment. Can’t wait ’til the end of summer.

I just have to say… I loved the “Woah! Look at that roach!” The fact that the choice word didn’t need bleeped says so much about what I love about you guys’s show!
Great show as usual guys! Of course I am sad about no live kasts during the summer, but I understand since you guys deserve a break! It sucks though because my computer broke and doesnt have sound anymore, so I’m going to have to find a way to watch next weeks show especially since it will the last for a while!
Missed most of the show but just caught the recording today. Sad to see that you are not going to be doing LiveKasts every Thursday thru the summer but I totally understand. I’m sure your families are happy about the hiatus too!
Awkward moments was a great topic. The whole handshake thing reminded me of an usher in our old church who would grab the fingers only – drove me up the wall! And the phone convos… wow, I am queen of awkward endings, but just because I despise the phone. Oh well, those who love me know that’s how I am and still call me! lol

Noteable awkward Kast moments: sad news results in chatroom going ballistic and making a record breaking amount of suicide threats. Rhett’s ‘alarming’ reaction to an unwelcomed creeping guest in the studio.
Thanks El_Pixi and JeffV! R&L, glad I could help out. I posted on FB earlier today and tonight, some friends came up to me and asked “Who are these RhettandLink ppl you gave an idea to”? Explaining who R&L are and what they do was an awkward moment in itself.
