So let’s begin the conversation now. Comment below with your favorite gift from Christmastime-past.

We need a camera, we don’t have one… we have been mooching off of our siblings who have camera’s but unfortunately
we don’t…
We also NEED
A new Guitar, an acoustic-electric preferably
so we can have better recordings of our music:)
My favorite gift from Christmas time past was the bass guitar from Mom and Dad when I was in high school – it was every girl’s dream, well, at least, it was this girl’s dream, and Mom and Dad as always, came through. Merry Christmas Rhett and Link from Janis in the Dominican Republic!
A Bow and Arrow set, complete with a target. On that Christmas day…I almost killed the dog, a very old and half blind Australian Shepherd named Lady. She survived another year, long enough to see me win my first competition. I’m still so thankful for that gift, it provided me with an outlet to all the weird stuff going on in my head and heart at that time in my young life. I still go out from time to time, its still a really good time. Brings me to a place of peace. Sounds slightly creepy I know, but its true.
The best gift I had received was a 1987 Saab Turbo from my Mother it wasnt the best car in the world but it made me look hella classy. So thanks MOM
when I was sixteen my mom started making porcelain dolls, I use to collect the cheap ones, so when I open my present and found the doll wearing my first Christmas dress I flipped. Of course that was the year my family decided to video tape opening presents and I’m shrieking, “I got a baby for Christmas” over and over. I was excited. (still get the doll out as special Christmas decoration, usually it stays in my room away from my kids)
last year… my mom and dad got me a Remington 11-87 semi-auto 12 gauge shotgun – THE BEST!!!!! EVER!!!!!!!!
I remember, when I was about 6 or 7, I wanted a bike. So early Christmas morning I ran downstairs, and I saw my new bike (A pink Barbie one. I was a big fan of Barbie then, too). Then I completely blew off all of the other gifts and went to ride it. Also, I didn’t like getting clothes at ALL when I was that age. I mean, who did?! Be honest. :]
Christmas in the early 70′s: I was in the turbulent middle school years when the big craze was getting a 10-speed bike with the curled down handle bars and skinny gum tires. I had picked mine out of the Sears catalog called the Free Spirit (everything related to the upcoming bicentennial) and just couldn’t see me ever owning one. I didn’t believe my eyes when I saw it on Christmas day.
My bubble was soon burst when I rode it to show it off to the older, meaner kid across the street, who let me know with great, ignominious delight that it was also the name of a BRA. My dream was shattered. Are there long lasting repercussions from such trauma? I dunno. I do know I now make sure before I make a purchase on any new car that it is not named after any lingerie. (Wondercar, Cross-Your-Cart, etc.)
Well duh it’s gonna be Santa? Who else on a special Christmas episode?
Fave gift? Nothing can top last year’s Wii. (well then again I’m only 13…) I mean, if I got one o’ them EyeTV things this year, that would be sweet. I could play that Wii on my iMac! (which, sadly, is bigger than my TV. It’s true.)
Personally the only thing I can think of was maybe a Game Boy Pocket I got when I was eight.
Back when Pokemon was less repetitive and when Color was soon to be a “innovation in handheld technology.”
Good times man…..good times.
Santa Claus! Is it Santa Claus gonna co-host!?
My favorite gift was when I was 18 and spotted the Tickle Me Elmo. It just came out and I saw it on the shelves at Walmart and just LOVED it! Told my parents who kinda looked at me funny since I was 18 and asking for a plush toy. It was during the month of December that the Elmo hullabaloo hit and they were going for hundreds/thousands of dollars with desperate parents. I openned my Christmas gift and found the red guy, completely shocked and excited. Had I known what was in that package before Christmas I might have sold it to pay for my college tuition. lol
Other favorite gifts: my boyfriend (now husband) built a rocking chair for me – his first every wood project.
And of course getting the Commodore 64C was pretty fantastic too back in the day.
Yay! I’ll actually be able to make it tonight!
Anywho. I honesttly never remember which gifts I get for my Birthday or christmas..so not a whole lot there.
And the only Wii. meh.
I would say that my favorite Christmas Gift was either my Teddy Ruxpin Bear or my Karate Gi even though i never took karate.
The saddest day I remember was when my Teddy Ruxpin became “demon possessed” and started telling he his tales in a demonic voice.
I found out later his batteries were just running down. so then I checked for batteries and there were none….
Who just got chills?
(The whole battery story is completely false. I don’t want anyone to think that I had a demon possessed toy. He did however speak low when his batteries started to die.)
My favorite Christmas memory has always been my dad making wassail in the crock pot. Presents, I don’t remember too well, but wassail is a different matter!
If you’ve never heard of wassail, give it a try!
Here’s my recipe:

My brother and I got a Super Nintendo with Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego. The best part was that I opened up the game on Christmas Eve as our one small gift, and my mom tried to convince us that our dad bought the wrong game and they would take it back and trade it for a regular Nintendo game after Christmas. But that really was the only time I can remember being so incredibly excited about a toy.
I’m gonna be here!
I think I might call in too…Yippee. I love Christmas.
aw dang…the colts are playing a thursday night game
so i wont be watching tonight…sorry guys!
i think my favorite christmas gift from childhood is probly
the nintendo 64. gettin that thing was radical.
my christmas wish this year
is to get my 13 million youtube views!
yea!
