Well, I just wanted to let you know you aren’t alone. In fact, every single person I know has had a cold within the last week. It’s almost insane actually, I almost can’t believe it. Anyways, just got tuned into your sight and I think I will be sticking around.
P.S. I am jealous of your cold voice, I just get nasally.
Ahh with spring around the corner, winter strikes one last time. I don’t have a cold now, but I have been having the onset symptoms on and off again for two months. I have been battling it with coldFX and an occassional regiment of Neocitron to knock me out cold for 10 hours. It seems to clear out my system when I get on; and when i do get a cold, the sad part is I am reminded of my grade school since my deeper voice would sound like my third grade teacher, Ms. Gor. I tried to take advantage of that voice when I was younger, but 8 year old me had a hard time posing as a teacher Hope you feel better.
I am a mythical beast, but I never seem to get logged in right, so sometimes my badge doesn’t show… do I HAVE a Kommunity Password? I don’t know, I just stay logged in all the time…. so I haven’t ever used one.
Anyhoo… Misery loves company, and we took comfort in your Vlog, Rhett…. as hubby and I both have colds. 1st one for us in 5 yrs or so. YUCK, I have forgotten how icky they are! And, yes, we use our romantic “cold voices” on each other!! LOL!! Funny that you think that way, too – I guess comedy loves company as well.
Get feeling better soon! Someday I will figure out how to sign in so my badge shows… sometimes it does, and sometimes it doesn’t… Maybe my computer has a cold!
I JUST got over my cold. It snowed here in South Mississippi a couple weeks ago. So naturally I thought that called for a camping trip to my backyard with some of the guys. We all got sick. Go figure.
I don’t have a cold right now, thank goodness. I think the last time I had a really bad cold was around right before Christmas. But now I’ll probably jinx myself and get one in a few days. Hahah
And oh, now I get why you’re pronouncing femells like that! Thanks for clearing that up for me! :]
(About the memo pad, I apologize for my atrocious handwriting. haha)
I haven’t had a “cold” for a while. Up until this past fall, I hadn’t been any sort of sick for two whole years. And then I got my first flu shot in 10+ years. Which, of course, led to me getting the flu. Grr…
Oh, and I once had laryngitis for a month and a half. Two weeks was fun, but after that it was just downright frustrating.
I have a cold right now, and it’s bringing me down, almost to the low point of Rhett’s voice. My voice isn’t as much scratchy as it is squeaky and nasally; Think gatekeeper of Wizard of Oz. Definitely beastly.
When I get colds, the normally turn into Bronchitis. I normally lose my voice. This has one major benefit: not having to work the drive-thru at Starbucks.
Rhett you crack me up, as you are suppose to, being an internetainer.
I am a fe-mell and I to get a deeper voice when I have a cold. Most of the time I loose my voice. If you ask my husband if that’s a win for him. ;o) he might say o yeah!!
Get well soon Rhett! Charming voice is charming… but sick Rhett no happys lol. Whenever i get sick i take advantage of the fact that i begin to sound like Enrique Iglesias, and i sing love songs to beautiful women. Well… actually i start sounding like i swallow steel wool, and stop talking till i get better, but i hope you get better soon too Rhett!
Dude, I NEVER get sick. My immune system is a beast, a mythical one possibly, though im not sure. last time I got sick was this past summer. I live a healthy life.
The last time I had a major cold was in September. I had driven from Wisconsin where I live to Pennsylvania for two weeks to take care of my mother (that’s another story). Distance = 670 miles. I didn’t get sick while I was there; however, on the day I was to drive back, I awake with the beginning of sniffles. Wisely, I stocked up on cold meds, including Dayquil and Afrin and a new box of Kleenex. By the time my 12 hour drive was over, I was sneezing my head off – or I would have liked to have sneezed it off so that I could throw the miserable thing out the window and drive on without it. Unfortunately, I needed my eyes which by now were bleary and mere slits, so they weren’t doing me much good either. I had thought about staying someplace over night and continuing the drive in the morning, but since I woke up the next day sicker than a dog, I would have been laid up in a strange hotel room for a week until I felt well enough for the rest of the trip. So, I’m glad I continued. I had ‘cold voice’ for quite a while after that and since hubby took good care of me when I was sick, it made having a wicked cold kind of fun. It reminded me of the Friends episode where Phoebe’s singing improved when she had a cold. I have an ‘announcer voice’ like Rhett does. I’ve been told that mine is well-suited to classical music, soft mellow stations, but with the ‘cold voice’ and the ‘announcer voice’ together – smooth and sexy, baby. Bring on that fusion jazz. LOL
And after all that, I approve of the hybrid name. Shahbaz does indeed speak with husky wisdom.
I’ve been told I sound like Demi Moore when I have a cold. So yes, having a “cold voice” does have it’s advantages, at least on the phone.
Shahbaz speaks with wisdom! I applaud the fusion/hybrid pronunciation of “fe-mells!” Sisterhood of the Traveling Head KBE for the win! I wonder if the “mells” are cool enough to come up with something like this? Naaah. ;o)
Oddly enough, I also woke up this morning with a scratchy throat. But I also welcome it at times because of the lower voice. I’ve been told it’s “sexy” – so I’ll take it
Sorry you aren’t feeling well! Hope you’re feeling better soon.
I do not get sick. This is not due to healthy eating or taking lots of vitamins. I just don’t get sick. When I’m “sick,” it’s usually a headache or a sore throat that goes away after a couple of hours.
I have a cold…. thankfully it hasn’t affected my voice too much, although I did sound congested for a few days, but I remember back in the fall, I got a major cold that sent my voice down an octave or so. This might be cool for the male population to have a temporarily deeper voice, but not so for us “femelles.”
I’m babysitting today, and the little girl i’m babysitting has a terrible cold. So, although I may not have one NOW, I give it a few days, and I believe that I, too, will have a cold! =/ haha
Jeezles, I wish I had joined earlier, then I could have participated in the styrofoam-head-box.
Rhett, you must not be using the Perfect Bathroom Trip techniques, as it is “cold and flu season.” x]
Who hasn’t had a cold before…? I don’t get sick very often, but I think I might also have a cold right now. My throat is all scratchy. ><
Oh…I hope Link isn't sick, that could be very dangerous for Lando…o.o
Well, I hope you feel better soon, and I commend you for coming into work, even though you are sick. ^^

Hi Rhett,
In fact I called in sick for work today with a cold! I hope we both recover soon.
Slip

I don’t have a cold, but I’ve been sick the entire day. I hope I feel better tomorrow!
I know how you feel, Rhett. I just got a cold over the weekend. Your cold voice works for you; mine makes me sound like a man
I just got over a cold a few days ago and I has a very hoarse voice.
Last time I got a cold was a couple of months ago…actually it was the flu and I wanted to die. But I’m all better now and I hope you get better soon!
Rhett you crack me up, as you are suppose to, being an internetainer.

Everytime I have a bad cold and my voice changes I like to sing to Ashlee Simpson, because I sound like the voice on her cd. It’s awful, but funny!

I totally take advantage of the deep voice. It almost makes the cold worth it. Almost.
I’m babysitting today, and the little girl i’m babysitting has a terrible cold. So, although I may not have one NOW, I give it a few days, and I believe that I, too, will have a cold! =/ haha
