There are few things worse than being invited to the PARTY OF THE CENTURY one week late.  So we’re sorry we didn’t know about this in time for you to make plans to attend. But just reading the flyer is a party in and of itself.

When this was shared with me (Link) over the weekend, I knew I had to share it with you. This flyer is for real.  It was posted in a convenient store in Lillington, NC (where our studio used to be) and a friend-of-a-friend took these two pictures.

This is just down the road from where we grew up.  You’ll see that the party was in Bunnlevel, NC which, incidentally, is also where Larnold Jernigan, Sr. is from.  I wonder if he attended.  He loves Birthday/Demo Release Parties… especially since he’s always talking about he how wants the people all over the world to know that Bunnlevel “IS NT PLAYIN.”

Dee Dee’s Epic Party Flyer

As you can probably tell, this was a lot of fun.  Thanks to all of you who submitted your ideas to us on our Facebook Page. Depending on what the Beasts and the Internet at large think of this, we’ll do it again.  And when we do, we’ll let you know with a video on our second YouTube channel (and here on our site, of course).

It’s hard to believe, but the Tweak Rhett & Link Mythical Shoe is HERE! Of course, it must be revealed in dramatic fashion:

We were also floored at how quickly designer Guy Marshall was able to design the final shoe, and how fast the Tweak team was able to manufacture the first couple of pairs!

We are extremely happy with the final product, and we think the Mythical Shoe is truly awesome, unique, and affordable. We look forward to wearing them…A LOT. Friday Meant Mail!

Have you ever thought about returning to a house you lived in as a kid? During our last trip to Los Angeles, I (Rhett) decided to do just that. The last time I saw this place was when I was 5 or 6 years old, just before I moved to North Carolina and met Link.

What would you do if a stranger showed up and wanted to see your house because they used to live in it? Maybe I was too hard on the guy for being so suspicious. But I don’t think we seemed like a threat…who knows. Also, let us know if you’ve ever tried this same thing and what happened.

The Invisible Train

Before you begin thinking about whether or not you’d like to watch a video that features Bacon Flops, just do it.  Watch it.  Now.

The day that every Internetainer dreams of has finally come for us.  We’re gonna have an official shoe.  Okay…maybe we didn’t anticipate this, but we sure do think it’s cool.  This, ladies and gents, is a Kommunity Building Exercise on steroids.  Thanks to an incredibly adventurous and innovative new shoe company, Tweak, we (that means YOU and all the Mythical Beasts) will be designing the Mythical Shoe over the coming weeks.  And, just as a reminder…this Mythical Shoe is 100% real.  You’ll be able to put it on your real feet, not just your mythical ones.

Each week for the next few weeks, we’ll have a prompt to get you thinking.  Just head over to our Facebook page and start contributing.  You can follow this week’s prompt, which is the question, “What do you want the Mythical Shoe to say about you?”, or you can add videos/photos/text of just about whatever you’d like to get us all thinking of some amazing ideas for the Mythical Shoe.

Amazing Bacon Flops and Even Better Ideas

As part of our I Love Local Commercials series, the latest business to receive a free local commercial from us and Microbilt is TCT Recovery, owned and operated by one Walter Salmon.  FYI, “recovery” is a nice way of referring to “repossession”, the unfortunate circumstance in which something that has been purchased and is not being payed for is reclaimed.  It may sound complicated, but as Walter will tell you, it’s relatively EASY.

If you’re a regular consumer of our videos (officially referred to as a Mythical Beast), you’ve probably figured out that we don’t do much planning for our local commercials. Instead, we show up and let the owners/employees and the setting serve as our inspiration.  Right after meeting Walter, we learned that he referred to the folks whose vehicles he repossessed as “clients”.  It was almost as if Walter’s perspective was that he was doing a service for these people.  Now, there’s an angle for a commercial.

In order to make a great (translation: hilariously bad) local commercial, we have to do our fair share of “research”.  There’s only one way to do research about repossessions.  You gotta do some repossessin’.  Well, we did, and let’s just say that it wasn’t necessarily as easy as Walter’s commercial implies.
