I understand the awkwardness of the birthday song/greeting. When I was younger I would sing along with everyone else when they sang me the birthday song because I thought that was the thing to do but now I pretty much smile at everyone singing to me. And yes, I have said “Happy birthday to you too!” before! Now I usually just say thank you to who ever is wishing me a happy birthday.
PS Why don’t we say “Merry Birthday”? Is Christmas the only holiday we can be merry and not happy on? Just some food for thought…

I loved Rhett’s rendition on the birthday song to Link, however, I couldn’t help but think how much more ‘interesting’ the song would have been if Rhett and sung it in Marilyn Monroe to JFK fashion… ANYWAY, birthdays are MY favorite things and I love to celebrate them whether they be mine or someone else’s!
