Inappropriate Zoo Commercial

\

For our I Love Local Commercial series, the name of the game is getting businesses noticed. And sometimes that means going in a totally different direction. For the Central Florida Zoo commercial, we went back to a simpler time in our lives, when something as natural as animal poop made us laugh. If you don’t like potty humor, you might wanna skip this one…or just lighten up.

No doubt, a number of people will be offended by this. All I can say is that we didn’t show anything that you wouldn’t see if you actually took a trip to the zoo. Also, the premise for all our commercials is that they probably should have never been made….that’s the point. But, you have the right to be offended by animals being animals.

The Central Florida Zoo was a perfect candidate for a free commercial for a lot of reasons. We appreciate their cooperation and attitude throughout the whole process! For those of you who wanna see how we made this distasteful commercial, watch the behind the scenes video:

We continue to accept nominations for more FREE commercials, so head over to ilovelocalcommercials.com and nominate your favorite local business!

Uhh… I’m not sure how to respond to this… Okay I got it. It. Was. Horrible.
At the moment, I’m not sure if that means it’s epic, or an epic failure. I suppose it’s a micture of both. (But I think that’s a good thing.) oKAY…. ^_^

Rachel G. =D the tofu wearing octopus (I think...)

Great job, guys. Inner eight-year-olds unite! I’m reminded of one of my favorite novels, “Everybody Poops”.

Nah, not big on this one, guys. Big fan–but I’ll pass on this one.

So I’m watching… and laughing… and glancing at my wife across the room, and thinking, “She isn’t going to like this one” (especially when the end of the commercial came on.)

She laughed harder than I did.

Extra: As I watched the Behind the scenes, during the tortoise part (Link, your commentary cracked me up) my wife kept asking “What is that sound?” in reference to the male. I kept saying she didn’t want to know, why wondering if I should avert my eyes from the screen.

Oh my goodness, the behind the scenes footage was the best! And what a BAD local commercial! Huzzah!

Totally bummed we missed the Central FL Zoo on our 52 Zoos in 52 Weeks tour last year. LOVE this video. I’ll have my hubby (GodsMac) link to it on our site. Can’t wait to show our girls (8, 7, 3) tomorrow. Poop was one of their favorite parts of every zoo.

Are you guys close to the NC Zoo in Asheboro? We saw an elephant bull take the biggest dump EVER there. Bigger than a cannonball.

And we’ve seen the mating tortoises. One of the highlights of our year. We were just at the zoo in Columbia, SC this weekend and almost caught another “show” but then they decided to go to sleep instead.

Hah! THAT’s why Rhett was sweaty in the photos my wife took with the kids :)

for once, I actually didn’t like it… was that the goal?

The goal was to promote the Central Florida Zoo. And the more inappropriate the commercial, the more attention it gets. I suppose R&L did an experiment this time – how much does the Kommunity appreciate potty humor. And I’d say it’s cool to just chill out and laugh from poops droppin’, like we all did when we were kids.

If ya’ don’t like potty humor, well – this one’s not for you, perhaps. :) Anyway, everyone has their taste in things, so I don’t blame you. I personally liked this different take on things.
