Music Lady,
You are the first person to accurately peg the chords to this song...the verse chords are the same as the Lil' Fellers song, a with a slightly different melody. The song was written at 3AM, so you might call this a early morning compromise, but we figured we could recycle those 3 chords, seeing how we wrote that song 8 years ago.
Rhett · Feb 28, 2008 12:46pm
Yeah what happened to TV Guide?
Brian Nash · Feb 28, 2008 11:14am
Nice...it was boring. Rhett, good seeing you this weekend - really enjoyed being back in the Lillington, Angier, BC metroplex. Give my best to Lock - Go Heels
Reid · Feb 28, 2008 12:16am
Good job, Rhett and Link! I really liked the video!
Are the chords and melody of this song in any way like the Lil' Fellers song?
Kelli (music-lady) · Feb 28, 2008 12:04am
so true!!!!
jt$ · Feb 27, 2008 6:41pm
also... link i'm jealous of that tux. i can only wish that i had a tuxedo as cool as that. if kate blanchett had a girl at the oscars, she should name her link blanchett.
G-Reg_Hippo · Feb 27, 2008 5:13pm
I loved this video!!! too funny.
jesse · Feb 27, 2008 11:16am
My computer hates me and won't let me watch it. I want to see video and music together, so I'm gonna wait till I'm back in its good graces to watch it. Sounds like you did a good job, though! :)
jelly · Feb 27, 2008 1:06am
Keep up the great work.
Link, hope your Grandmother will be feeling better soon.
Love the stuff about the folks in Lillington.
Rev. Ken Smith · Feb 27, 2008 12:44am
instant classic.
dan · Feb 27, 2008 12:09am
Thanks, I figured that was what you guys did. Also, thanks for the reply. I think the end product you guys turn out demonstrates your method works conistently. I'm doing what I can to spread the news about you guys.

Yeah, I watched the Oscars. I don't think I've seen any of the movies that won. I was really mad when Transformers lost the Visual Effects category. I mean come on. The highway fight scene was so realistic, I think I actually pooped my pants a little. Instead it went to the Golden Compass because apparently somebody is very good at animating a large white polar bear. Plus the constant political attacks from John Stewart on the Republican party started to get really annoying. However, I too did like the song from Once, although I haven't seen that movie either. And I was also very annoyed by the 98 year old Robert Boyle taking one 20 minutes to say a complete sentence, but I guess he earned it. Anyways, very good song. I applaud (*****).
(I wish he would have slipped too)
Andy · Feb 26, 2008 7:39pm
yeah that was upsetting that all the awards went to europeans. lol i didn't watch it but that guy that was 98 must of been really boring. for the song, i liked it, it wasn't my favorite though. it was good, creative, and humorous so i'll give it a 4/5 , five being the best. and that female award winner lady does creep me out too.
G-Reg_Hippo · Feb 26, 2008 6:35pm
P-roc...
most times,
we conceptualize a song then work on music and lyrics in tandem.
Link · Feb 26, 2008 5:50pm
I Love it!! this song is really brilliantly catchy :-P i have already learned all the words :-P
angelbelle717 · Feb 26, 2008 5:07pm
Nice work! I love Link's extra high part on "Oscar". Just wondering if you guys make the lyrics for a song first or do you start with the music first? From what I've seen on your live casts it looks like a combination of both at the same time. Just curious about your creative process.
P-Roc · Feb 26, 2008 4:45pm
Love the song, guys. I still can't get over the tight harmonies you guys do, sounds great.
The Oscars were kind of boring, and I thought that Tilda Swenton had a lot of make-up on when she played the White Witch in Naria...but that's what she really looks like..eeww
But I liked the performance of "Falling Slowly" by Glen Hansard & Marketa Irglova from the movie 'Once'
JGHue · Feb 26, 2008 3:42pm
w00t! Awesome, guys - just awesome!!!
But...er...aren't the Oscars ALWAYS boring?
I mean...the ONLY thing worth watching, IMHO, is you two! :D

once again an amazing job!

jokesandjesus · Feb 26, 2008 11:07am
You guys need to be interviewing all those stars instead of that chick. It would have been a lot more entertaining.
Jennifer · Feb 26, 2008 12:39am
you guys are great. i didnt even watch the oscars but from what you guys say, i'm glad i didnt.
=)
Mariah · Feb 25, 2008 11:58pm
Congrats on the TV gig!
I don't have a TV so I didn't watch the Oscars - but who needs to when I can watch the much more enjoyable Rhett and Link version! I particularly enjoyed your "for instance..."
Plus, once your song finished playing, Seal and Heidi Klum were staring at me from the bottom of the screen - it's a sign! I'm not sure what kind of a sign - but I'm sure it must be a sign!
Krista · Feb 25, 2008 11:32pm
I know it seems like I've been dead for the past couple weeks and I'm sorry guys. I will definetly be there Thursday, I had some family stuff go on. But its good to see that ya'll still are makin great, funny, quality stuff.

The Oscars were worth watching simply for Jon Stewart's brutal attacks on the cult of celebrity ("Before we spend the next four hours giving each other little gold statues, let's *congratulate* each other!"), and for the fact that "Ratatouille" won best animated flick, but other than that, nothing special.
Still, great song as always, and looking forward to more TV Guide songs.
doggans · Feb 25, 2008 9:29pm
Wow. You guys are so freaking cool! I lurve you. You guys should consider making an actual song. Non-comedy related.
ZeroWing · Feb 25, 2008 8:50pm
So can u summarize all TV shows in song now so I don't have to waste my time watching? And I will have more time to watch Rhett and Link and Hockey Night in Canada
Brian Nash · Feb 25, 2008 8:48pm
LOL, pretty good. It made me laugh.
Sarah Risner · Feb 25, 2008 8:31pm
Bahaha. Link's tux is pretty ace, I must say.
And I think I agreed with everything you said.
Insta-fave!
