Are you Okay with Decay?

As part of our I Love Local Commercials series, the latest business to receive a free local commercial from us and Microbilt is TCT Recovery, owned and operated by one Walter Salmon.  FYI, “recovery” is a nice way of referring to “repossession”, the unfortunate circumstance in which something that has been purchased and is not being payed for is reclaimed.  It may sound complicated, but as Walter will tell you, it’s relatively EASY.

If you’re a regular consumer of our videos (officially referred to as a Mythical Beast), you’ve probably figured out that we don’t do much planning for our local commercials. Instead, we show up and let the owners/employees and the setting serve as our inspiration.  Right after meeting Walter, we learned that he referred to the folks whose vehicles he repossessed as “clients”.  It was almost as if Walter’s perspective was that he was doing a service for these people.  Now, there’s an angle for a commercial.

In order to make a great (translation: hilariously bad) local commercial, we have to do our fair share of “research”.  There’s only one way to do research about repossessions.  You gotta do some repossessin’.  Well, we did, and let’s just say that it wasn’t necessarily as easy as Walter’s commercial implies.

Totally Random Repo Commercial

The latest commercial in our I Love Local Commercials web series is for the good folks at Bucks First Federal Credit Union in Bristol, PA. They were such good sports when we had Edbassmaster pull one over on them as Skippy. But the ultimate goal wasn’t to let Skippy make them feel uncomfortable…it was to give them a free, crazy, local commercial. For this one, we went for the classic, scripted commercial featuring the employees as amateur actors. Oh…and a mascot, too.

We’re back in the greater Lillington area to churn out some more Internetainment for you and yours. The plan is to continue to bring you regular vlogs throughout the week on our second youtube channel. Here we go!

Before you watch our latest commercial from our I Love Local Commercial series, make sure to check out the behind-the-scenes video. For this one, we decided to head in a slightly different direction. We’ve made a fair number of purposely bad commercials. We wanted to make one that seemed good, but still seemed “off”. So, here it is, our sobering (and ironic) tattoo commercial for True Blue Tattoo in Austin, TX.

Please send this to everyone you’ve ever known who has thought about getting a tattoo, or already has one. We’d love to see this one take off with the tattoo community, too, so if you know of anyone with connections in those online communities, send the commercial to them!
