A Narrow Escape

I am so impressed with this video from Mythical Beast, BrAdFeRd. It is so visually interesting and well done, and I know that it took a LONG time to complete. According to Brad, he wrote, directed, and starred as both male characters in this video. That is a lot of hats to wear.

Brad was also kind enough to volunteer his time to help Rhett & Link make their pillow video. So, not only is he talented, he is a nice guy.

I also love the nod to Charlie Chaplin’s famous character, the Little Tramp. That was a great time in cinema history and it might be one of my favorites. What about you? What is your favorite period for movies? Do you like classic dramas from the 50s or do you prefer the teenage comedies from the 80s? Leave a comment below and let us know what you consider the best era for movies.

It’s Sketchy

This week I want to highlight a Mythical Beast with some crazy artistic talent. I am really good at stick figures – two arms, two legs, one circle head – but Chelsea Curran‘s ability puts my skinny guys to shame. She recently tackled our two favorite Internetainers with her pen (pencil? charcoal? crayons?) and the results are beautiful. Well done, Chelsea!

Are you an artist? Are you super-impressed by those who are? Let us know in the comments.

A Goodbye Tribute

I read the sad news this week – Sony has decided to stop producing the cassette Walkman after 30 years. I remember getting my Walkman when I was in the 3rd grade; I loved listening to my Cindi Lauper tape over and over (figuratively and literally – kids, you had to turn your tape over to listen to the other side). Granted, the last time I even saw a Walkman was when we made our video for the 80s KBE, but it still seems like the end of an era. Yes, most of us saw this coming; unfortunately, Rene (WaggDoodle) is taking the news pretty hard.

Poor, Rene. Don’t worry, those tapes will be a great prop to teach the next generation a little about history. What’s one thing that you remember fondly from your childhood that no longer exists? Or, what part of the past do you wish that you had been able to experience first-hand? Let’s reminisce together below.

Randler Greetings

Look at the mythicallity that ŽaltysEgle has been posting around the Kommunity.  She is a relatively new Mythical Beast who created a Randler to wish people a good day.

Seriously, how sweet and mythical is that? For those who don’t know, the Randler is the official mascot of the Mythical Beasts and I love Žalty’s take on it – hers is even eating bacon. Mythical Beasts are some of the nicest people I have ever associated with, and I know I’m not the only one who feels that way.
