It’s finally here. The sequel to our original T-shirt War. And this time, it’s not just an internet video, but a full-fledged TV commercial for McDonalds and Coke! It’s showing in regions all across the USA (including in movie previews), but it’s also here online!
We were thrilled to be able to work with Joe Penna (MysteryGuitarMan) and Billy Reid on this. Thanks guys!
And don’t miss the behind-the-scenes video:
As you might imagine, this was really an awesome project for us. It’s a privelege to be part of something that represents what has now become possible because of the internet and YouTube. Guys like us can set up shop in a small town in our home state and land gigs like this one. But, as we hope the video clearly communicates, we couldn’t have done this without you! Thanks for being a Mythical Beast!
Comment below with your favorite part of the commercial, and whether or not you’ve seen it on TV.
Thanks to those of you who’ve already purchased a T-shirt from our T-shirt War Store! We really appreciate it. The shirts are going fast, so if you want one, we encourage you to go ahead and pick yours up. Time for some shout outs!
Thanks to the uber-talented Billy Reid for helping to make the T-Shirt War video what it is. Billy’s behind-the-scenes video really captures some of the work that went into the project:
After months of planning and execution, we present the most complex video in our Internetainment history, T-Shirt War! Last fall, we met with Joe Penna (mysteryguitarman) and Billy Reid (verytasteful), intent on creating something that had never been done before: a stop-motion animation video consisting of animation taking place on two T-shirts that interact with one another.
The four of us conceptualized each sequence, then Billy created the individual designs. Rushtshirts.com then printed and delivered over 200 shirts. Soon after, the three of us convened in Lillington to shoot the video over a period of two days (with help from MikeQuad and Karl with a K). Joe then edited it all down to the final product. Whew!! It was fun, and we’re happy to be able to show it to you now:
Now, for the really fun part. YOU can purchase one of the actual T-shirts that we wore in the video, or you can create a replica based on the designs from the video. Go to our T-shirt War Store for that! These t-shirts won’t last long, so head over there and get a collector’s item while you can! Not only will you get a one-of-a-kind T-shirt, but you’ll be supporting our Internetainment ventures so we can continue bringing you videos like this one. Thanks.
Hopefully, it’s pretty obvious that we put a lot of time into this one, and we really appreciate the help from Joe and Billy, as well as Rush T-shirts. With all the work that into to this, we really want to make sure that it gets out there and is seen on the interwebs! So, we’re asking you to send this to any and everyone who you think might like it. Tweet it, email it, facebook it, whatever you want. We’ll appreciate it. A LOT.
The music for this video is from “Get You Back”, a song available on our new album,Up To This Point. On the album, the song actually has lyrics. Download it on iTunes or Amazon.
