Tell Us What To Do!

\

We’re inviting the YouTube community (that means, you too!) to tell us what to do in our next three videos. Are we our of ideas? No. We’re just taking part in the Healthymagination YouTube Physical Challenge hosted by GE and Howcast.

Comment below with your suggestions on what we should do for the physical challenges. Then, if you don’t mind, cut and paste your comment and post it under the video on YouTube (just because we’re only choosing YouTube comments, but mythical beast comments have a special place in our hearts).

One thing to note: we made a big deal out of physical challenges, but you can also challenge us to more general health or diet challenges, like eating a certain diet, etc. So keep that in mind as you comment.

Also, make sure you check out the other YouTubers who we’re “competing” against. You can see them and their videos at the Howcast Youtube channel.

My suggestion is short but simple, play: “The Floor is Lava” for more than two days in your office while working.

To avoid the floor and get around, you would either have to climb on your furniture or construct some sort of rope course to hang or zip across. I cant guarantee that it would be the most efficient way to work, but I’m sure that as you chair skate/ roll across the office to answer the phone your health (and not bumping into each other) would be on your mind more than the number of subscribers you have.

May I place in your suggestion bucket:
    Gymnastics
    Apparatus
    Trampoline
You can put this to music

    1. A mythical shopping cart race! (with one of you in the shopping cart, one of you pushing it) you can decide what makes it mythical
    2. Blindfolded potato sack race
    3. Blindfolded corn hole!
    4. Air chair on the wooden TV you used for the In the 80s music video
I think its really cool youre donating the money to charity! Keep up the good work!

Oh a couple of suggestions.. go on a Gluten Free diet! yep.. last time we did that the eHermit lost weight.

Seaborne and Roach sit around in the car alot.. I think they need to think about their health don’t you? So a video of their ideas on how to get healthy while doing PI work.

I didn’t really have anything in mind until you said do something physical while doing something musical. In that case, I would recommend marching band. To keep this short and simple, march for a long distance by high stepping with your choice of instrument. I recommend something light or your arms will hurt. Stay in step with each other while playing a song. Takes more coordination than you think! :-)

Two words: drag race. (not the kind involving cars…)

    One more:

Almond Bomb – in an effort to bring awareness to the health benefits of almonds, bags of almonds are thrown at unsuspecting volunteers.

    1) Awkward-cises: create own exercise moves, never before seen, such as: the donkey kick, the baditude backup, slap-jumps, freakqualizing, and the MJ Memento (various exercises inspired by Michael Jackson moves). I can explain in details later.

    2) Gallon Soy Challenge – whoever can consume the least amount of soy milk is the winner

    3) Chicken House Field Trip – vegetables never looked so good

    4) Professional Leering – soon to be an Olympic sport, peering around corners while talking, having a partially obstructed face, yet occasionally making eye contact: is a great calorie burner.

I loved? the office chair skating/dancing video from a while back. Maybe you can tie that into the current Olympics theme?

How about if you go to a mall or any other place that has escalators (preferably a place with the up and down escalators side by side). Then you both get on the escalators, and one of you runs up on the down escalator, and the other runs down on the up escalator. You both do this and try to stay on the escalator for as long as possible. Of course you could sing a song while doing this too (an exercise or cardio song?). Or you could interact with the other people on the escalators, that could be good.

My grandma and I once ran the opposite way on an escalator, and we ended up getting disciplined by a Sears employee. So you might have to come up with a way to handle a situation like that, LOL. :)
(I’ll post this on youtube too, although my userid is different on there.)

I dare you to try JAZZERCISE!

    (1) Recreate some of the classic Buster Keaton stunts. The man was a serious athlete, and could run like the wind. Can you?
    (2) With all the snow hitting the Northeast, now might be a good time to demonstrate how Real Men Shovel Snow. (We here in Michigan are experts. We practice nearly every day. During the winter, snow-shoveling keeps us healthy and fit; in summer, it’s mosquito-swatting.)
    (3) Back in my younger days, living in Seattle, we used to hike up “tiny” 8,000-foot mountains to prepare for the Mt. Rainier ascent. Perhaps you could find the 5 highest points in North Carolina and “take a hike”. In preparation for your 2012 Mt. Everest ascent. Need a sherpa?

X-treme thumb-wrestling contest. I’ll leave the decision for what makes it “X-treme” up to y’all, but the protective headgear is not optional. Safety first.

    Mel (Salerbatis)\ clarity73

You guy’s can arm wrestle, while lifting weights and singing. Or you can do that dance the russian’s do and sing. You know the dance, they have the arms crossed, they are in the invisible chair position, and they kick there legs out. All while having those ankle weights on your feet

I think the Krispy Kreme challenge would have been awesome, but we just missed that one. Beginning at the NC State Belltower, each runner runs 2 miles to the Krispy Kreme store located on Peace St. in Raleigh. After downing a full dozen of the famous Krispy Kreme doughnuts, the runner must run the 2 miles back. All in one hour.

But hey, who needs other runners? You should do it anyway!

You guys MUST do a video on either

    A) the FUTURE!

    B) The longest and/or weirdest words in the English language

    C) Doing odd things in public and videotaping people’s reactions.

    Sabertooth Penguin

I think you should do various exercises (jumping jacks, sit ups, push ups, etc) in random public places (like a grocery store, library, etc). That would be funny. :]

I would love to see you guys do some sort of jazzercise…of course while you’re singing a song you’ve written about the merits (or general suckiness) of jazzercising. Imagine the costumes!!!

Of course some Irish step dancing (a la Riverdance) might be nice. It’s sure to raise your heart rates, and I think you could manage to accompany yourselves on guitar and recorder while dancing. (One instrument each; I don’t want to make it too challenging!)

    Mel (Salerbatis)\ clarity73

I say a mall obstacle course challenge.

Go to your local mall Park in the furthest parking space possible. Across the street from the mall if possible. Walk/run up a downwards escalator. Go to the book store and bench press calvin and hobbs treasuries (The complete one not the best ofs)volunteer to walk the puppy store’s animals. All in music vid format.

I think that jogging while playing guitar (+singing?) can be fun, healthy and exhausting.

Also some TRIATHLON may suit yours skills (Rhett and Link Triathlon Challenge?). How about:
    1. Swimming – while singing
    2. Cycling – while rapping (try to Ghost Riding a bicycle…. You will probably have to use some bicycle side wheels… these ones that kids use)
    3. Running – while playing guitar.

I hope that my comment will help :P

    Cheers!

Volunteer at an equine therapy facility – you’ll get exercise helping those in therapy and cleaning up after and hauling hay for the horses (it’s good cardio, trust me!). Everyone wins – you get your creative physical challenge (and reach your target heart rate) and a good charity gets press! Maybe not flashy enough, though – I like the “run a long distance while singing a song” idea femkeslangen came up with, too!

Have Link walk on his hands with the Pimp-my-stroller buggy balanced on his feet going across the Cape Fear River Bridge on the way to Fuquay, dressed in skin tight black rubber suit along with Rhett ( dressed the same ) while singing ” Over the river and through the woods ” following Link with whip. :)

You should check out a Brazilian Jui-Jitsu class. I used to go to Fear Systems in Clinton, NC. It was a great source for cardio and endurance. It’s really fun and really informational. The instructor’s pretty awesome as well.

Do a local commercial for a gym infomercial style using yourselves as participants or instructors. Two birds with one stone anyone?

Airchair+rollercoaster reenactment for some period of time… Three minutes maybe. Maybe five if you’re wanting to feel extra “in shape”.
