That was an astounding story! I am SO glad you were able to get him on the show… a great opportunity to hear more detail and get a first hand account! I too believe it was a miracle and Thank God everyone survived – remarkable! Thanks for another great show, guys!

I agree with Mike. The second I heard about the background experience and expertise of “Sully”, including his hobby of gliding planes….I knew that God had placed that captain in that plane for that moment. I’m thankful for God’s grace.

One thing I thought was fascinating was that the person by the exit door had his hand on the knob and had that door open before the other passengers could even open their eyes. I now know that I should never sit in that seat!!! I don’t think I’d have my wits about me in a moment like that!

Mike…so happy that you are home and safe with your family!

Thank you for sharing your story. How uplifting to hear you talk about your faith in Christ. How refreshing to hear someone to be so thankful and to be thanking God to be alive, and to be thanking everyone involved in the rescue. Mike, you are such a sweet and genuine person. Good luck and God bless you.

I was really shocked at how calmly the entire story was recounted. I did learn that I am never sitting in the emergency exit row because I doubt I would be that helpful in a situation like that.

What a scoop! Great show guys, and thank you, Mike, for accepting the interview. I am so stoked that you scooped the “big boys!” And Mike you are way cool for doing your interview on R&L. . . another historic internetainment moment!

    Be safe all.

I was really excited to find out that you were able to get someone to talk to you guys! I was surprised to find out the manifest had not been released and that someone so level-headed had offered his name in one way or another to be able to recount his story for others. When things like this happen it seems like most people would be out for the fame but he seems to be pretty normal about it all. I do agree with you Rhett, I think I would have been twittering it for everyone and taking pictures (to scrapbook later of course) but I think I would have been trying to get off the plane all the same. Great show!

Even though this wasn’t the typical Thursday kast, I was very pleased. Mike seems to be a very level headed individual. It takes unknown strength to be able to get through something like that… The calm reality he seemed to bring to the situation was outstanding. Thank you for giving us, your viewers, this opportunity to learn and be thankful for the things we are graced with.

GREAT show! Sadly I had no internet so I couldn’t watch it live…but nonetheless, very cool.
    Can’t wait for next week!

It sounds like this clip is realy good. Too bad I can’t see it. It’s just not streaming into my web page. For those of you who CAN see it, enjoy it. Is this the person who read the emergency door instructions as the plane was descending into the Hudson and then opened the door on his side of the plane? If so, good job.

This could be symbolic of our roles in life – each of us are called to carry out our roles for each time and place and situation in life. Everyone, who continously tries his or her best to carry out his or her role, is a hero.

Hey guys. Great interview. I was able to catch it live, which was great. I think word is getting around via facebook and others about this, so you’re probably getting more traffic than usual for this video. A lot of people can’t get the streaming to happen at all. You may want to contact Ustream and let them know that you about the problem. Thanks.

    That should’ve been your supernote
