In the fall of 2008, we started a Youtube community collaboration and experiment to see who could hold out the longest vocal note on the Internet (watch the prompt video). In just 7 weeks, over 2200 people responded by submitting their SuperNotes, resulting in over 2 million video views! The experiment featured teams led by Youtube stars Michael Buckley, iJustine, Nalts, David Choi, Wicked Awesome Films, thehill88, Brookers, Edbassmaster, ShayCarl, Katers17, iJustine and yours truly. Here's the final results video:
Overall Winner
SuperNote culminated in a live web broadcast, SuperNote Live, where we let the top 25 SuperNoters compete to determine the supreme SuperNoter. Congratulations to cephas76 for winning SuperNote! Watch his winning SuperNote.
Team Winner
Each team captain competed to see who would have the longest cumulative SuperNote (adding up all team members' notes). ShayCarl and the Shaytard Rebellionites won the team competition by a long-shot, more than doubling our second place effort. Because Shay won, we wrote him a theme song.
Creative Winner
We also determined the most creative SuperNote entry. Congratulations to Funkmaster for his amazing SuperNote Song.

I just want to point out that thehill88 has the only average time above 30 seconds. We may not have quantity, but we have quality! And when my supernote gets posted, it will raise that average by more than 3 seconds.

in responce to NightOwl; if you turn your speakers up real loud you can some what hear that the note is still going on. also even if it did break (wich it may have on 1 or 2 of the parts im not sure my speakers are really old) he did not breath in. also there are 10 other ppl who had the same thing going on and still had theirs count.

I think the notes like Corey Vidal's that are really low and scratchy should count. They're not stopping to breathe are they? Besides, the FAQ says as long as you're making a vocal note, it's legit. Isn't humming allowed too?

@Madison yes unfortunatly the program that we counters use only accepts one entry per Youtube Screenname so your brother CAN do a video on your acount but it wont count towards the team score SORRY (just make him a youtube name im sure when he gets older he'll leave you in his digital dust ;) good question) for any other questions check out www.rhettandlink.com/notefaq to see if its answered there first if not feel free to ask people who know the rules are always looking

@speedguy5: The system takes the first supernote submitted from each YouTube channel. Your friends and family members can start their own channel if they want to participate, but you submitting more than one SuperNote via separate channels would be unfair.

The world record for 57 seconds includes NOT changing your pitch, or letting it get below A 40/40. Here, they let you change pitch, so your super note could be several slurred notes essentially, but you can't take a breath.
